The Violets got on the board first, scoring two goals in the opening 20 minutes.
Riley Mullady netted the first goal, and her second of the season, at 8:17, assisted by Jessica Tonthat.

Emory's Mia Han scored at 24:30 to make the game 2-1.
Gabriella Funk scored the third and final goal for the Violets at 78:49 on an assist from Dominique Bevacqua.

The Violets out-shot the Eagles 19-11, 10-6 on goal.
Emory's goalkeeper Sophia Garcia made seven saves during the match while NYU goalkeeper Riley Felsher made four.
"I'm super proud of the team. We had amazing energy going into the game and played with tenacity and composure," Waddell added. "That win puts us in a really good position for the tournament so we are especially thrilled."
