The New York University Women's Tennis Team opened its spring slate with a 7-2 loss to Swarthmore College on Friday, February 25, in Swarthmore, PA.
The Violets claimed a victory at #1 singles, as
Karina Jensrud defeated Nathalie Williams in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.
NYU was also a winner at #2 singles, with
Jimena Menendez beating Sonia Varma 6-2, 7-5.

Carol Plakk also performed well at #1 doubles, losing a close 8-6 match.
"For the first time out, there were some positives but also things we need to work on," said Head Coach
Horace Choy. "This was the first collegiate dual match for most of our players. We will use it as a learning tool and go from here."
The Violets return to the court on Saturday, March 5, when they host Wellesley College at 11:00am at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx, NY.
