The New York University Women's Fencing Team won all seven of its matches at the FDU Invitational on Sunday, February 13, in Hackensack, NJ.
The Violets (15-12) began the day by defeating NCAA Division I Wagner College 15-12. They followed that up with victories against CCNY (26-1), Division I host Fairleigh Dickinson University (25-2), Hunter College (25-2), Stevens Institute of Technology (16-11), Yeshiva University (27-0), and another Division I team, New Jersey Institute of Technology (15-12).
"The women were terrific today," said Head Coach
Steve Mormando. "They took down very strong teams from Stevens and NJIT, and produced solid wins over some Division I schools. Our younger squads did a great job overcoming the other teams and giving our strongest lineup a rest so they could bring their best against the stronger schools. It was a great result."
