NYU vs. Brandeis Results
The New York University men's tennis team traveled to Waltham, MA, and was defeated by host Brandeis University 6-3 on Sunday, April 7.
NYU (4-4) won three of the six singles matches, but was beaten in all three doubles. Brandeis is now 13-3 and ranked #10 nationally.
The singles winners for the Violets were
Vishal Walia at #1 (6-3, 6-30),
Yanik Parsch at #3 (3-6, 6-3, 6-3) and
Lucas Biondi at #5 (6-3, 6-0).
Two of NYU's three singles losses went to three sets.
"Today's match could have gone either way," said Head Coach
Horace Choy. "Despite the loss, I'm proud of the team because there were quite a few bright spots. Overall, it just came down to a few close three-set singles matches that we didn't pull out. But, we are going to use today as experience to build on."
The Violets return to action this Thursday, April 11, when they host Yeshiva University at the Stadium Tennis Club in the Bronx, NY. The match is set to begin at 8:00pm.
