OFFICIAL RESULTS
The New York University men's tennis team defeated the University of Rochester 5-4 on Sunday, April 14th, at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx.
The Violets improve to 6-5 with the win, while the Yellowfackets fall to 11-5.
In doubles play, the men were able to win two of the three matches.
Lucas Biondi and Ben Teoh won the #2 match 8-6, and
Shrikar Kundur and
Vishal Walia won the #3 match 8-3.
In singles play, the Violets fought hard, winning three of the six matches. Biondi won the #3 match 6-2, 1-6, 6-1,
Yanik Parsch won the #4 match 6-1, 6-2, and
Rahul Das won the #5 match 6-2, 6-1.
Vishal Walia and
Stefan Rodic both lost in three sets.
"It was a good win for the men," said Head Coach
Horace Choy. "They brought a lot of energy winning the doubles point was important. We were able to win the first 3 matches off and that gave us the winning lead at 5-1. We need to bring the same sense of urgency and energy to all our matches."
The Violets will face off against Stevens Institute of Technology in their regular season finale on April 17 at 3 PM in Hoboken, NJ.
