The New York University men's tennis team was defeated by Hobart College 5-4 on Saturday, April 13, at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx.
The Violets' season record now stands at 5-5, while the Statesmen improve to 10-4 with the win.
In doubles play, the men secured one victory as
Lucas Biondi and
Benedict Teoh won the #2 doubles match 8-1.
In singles play, the men won three of the six matches. Biondi won the #4 match 6-4, 6-1,
Yanik Parsch won the #3 match 6-1, 6-3, and
Rahul Das won the #5 match 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
"We lost a close one today, but our guys fought hard," said Assistant Coach
Eric Halpern. "We'll bounce back tomorrow."
The Violets face-off against the University of Rochester on Sunday, April 14, at 1:00pm at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx.
