The New York University men's tennis team fell to Haverford College 5-4 on Saturday, March 9, in Haverford, PA.
The Violets' season record now sits at 2-2, while Haverford opened their season with this win.
In doubles play, the Violets' lone victory came in the #3 match, as
Vishal Walia and
Shrikar Kundur won 8-1.
In singles play, the men won three of the six matches.
Yanik Parsch won the #4 match 6-2, 6-4,
Joshua Piatos won the #5 match 7-5, 6-2, and
Lucas Biondi won the #6 match 6-2, 6-3.
Rahul Das took the #3 match to three sets, but ultimately fell 6-4, 5-7, 4-6.
"It was a tough go today. It's never easy to lose a close match," Assistant Coach
Eric Halpern said. "Haverford played well, though, and their team is well-coached. There are a few things that we have to work on right now, but there are still some positives that we can take away from today despite the loss."
The Violets return to the court on Sunday, March 10, when they face off against Salisbury University at 12:30pm at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx.
