The New York University men's soccer team fell 5-1 to the University of Rochester in a University Athletic Association (UAA) matchup on Friday, November 1, in Rochester, NY.
Rochester's Zach Lawlor opened the scoring just 5:15 into the contest when he headed in a corner kick played in by Josh Cooley.
NYU's
Sergio Monton (Madrid, Spain/Fundacion Fomento) knotted the game just a few seconds later (5:33) when he connected on a penalty kick.
The game remained tied until the Yellowjackets answered back in the games 65th minute thanks to a header from Owen Carroll off of another corner kick from Cooley.
"We struggled to maintain intensity and composure during the second half," said Head Coach

The Yellowjackets tacked on two more goals late in the second half to secure the victory, 5-1.
The Violets are now 7-6-1 overall and 3-2 in the UAA, while the Yellowjackets improved to 10-5 and 2-3 in the UAA.
"We gave them too many corner kicks, which they are lethal at converting," added Wyant .
NYU returns to UAA action this Sunday, November 3, when they face Emory University at 1:30pm in Atlanta, GA.
