Official Results

The New York University women's fencing team hosted Columbia University at the Rosenthal Pavilion in NYU's Kimmel Center on Tuesday, November 13.

In its first dual meet of the season, the Violets fell to the Lions 18-9.

Returning to the strip for the first time since competing at the Temple Open on October 27, the Violets were edged in epee and foil by identical 5-4 scores and fell in sabre 8-1.

Alisa Traskunov won two foil bouts, while Hannah Bennett also recorded two wins in epee.

"Hannah and Alisa each had strong wins," said Head Coach Steve Mormando. "They came through against some very tough competition."

NYU's lone sabre win was recorded by Audrey Edgington.

The Violets return to action Sunday, December 2, when they compete at the Sacred Heart University Invitational in Fairfield, CT.
