NYU scored the first seven points of the final quarter, knotting the score at 56-56 on
Shaye McGoey's three-pointer with 6:48 remaining.
Emory scored the next four points, and though the Violets were able to pull within two points several times, they were never able to catch up.
The last of Read's points, scored on a pair of free throws with 14 seconds remaining, brought the Violets to within 66-64.
One second later, the Eagles' Lindsey Tse connected on a free throw. She missed her second attempt, but Ashley Oldshue collected the offensive rebound and was fouled. She made both freebies for the final margin of victory.
