The New York University women's soccer team posted its third-straight shutout and defeated Farmingdale State College 3-0 on Saturday, September 23, at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY.
NYU (4-2-1) took control of the game early, scoring the contest's first goal in the fourth minute as Marquel Love dribbled down the goal line and found a wide open
Alex Benedict in the box. Benedict finished the pass from Love for her fourth goal of the season.
Just over seven minutes later, the Violets doubled their lead when Love once again dribbled by a Farmingdale St. (2-4-2) defender, this time shooting and beating the goalkeeper just inside the far post.
Charlotte Herbertz tacked on an insurance goal for the Violets in the 70th minute, finishing a feed from
Tori Bianco. The assist was the first point of Bianco's career.
