The New York University women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw against the University of Scranton on a rainy Tuesday evening, September, 19, at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY.
NYU (3-2-1) dominated play in the opening half, outshooting Scranton (4-2-1) 11-2, but the Violets could not find the back of the net as the Royals' goalkeeper, Colleen Berry, made six saves in the first 45 minutes.
Meghan Marhan, who was making her first-career start for NYU made a pair of saves in the opening half, including a big deflection over the net off a corner kick midway through the frame.
In the second half, the Violets outshot the Royals 6-3, but it was Scranton which had the best chance as one of its shots hit the post. Marhan made two more stops in the half to enter overtime with four on the evening.
