The New York University men's tennis team completed its second day of play at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Saturday, April 22, at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, FL.

The #6-seeded Violets (9-4) were defeated by #7 Brandeis University 7-2 in the consolation semifinals.

"We knew Brandeis would come out strong, and they had us on our heels early," said NYU Head Coach Horace Choy. "We came back a little bit, but not enough to overcome our early deficits."

Senior Umberto Setter and freshman Xavier Pacthod earned the two wins for NYU, besting the Judges in #1 and #6 singles, respectively.

"Umberto continued his strong play, and Xavier had a good win," added Choy

The Violets conclude tournament play tomorrow with the seventh-place match against #8 University of Rochester. The match is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am.
