The New York University women's tennis team was defeated by #28 (NCAA.com) Skidmore College 7-2 on Saturday, March 4, in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Leading the way for the Violets was freshman Rupa Ganesh. The San Jose, CA, native (along with partner
Judy Kam) defeated Danielle Giannetti and Jessica Ampe 8-3 in #3 doubles. Ganesh then beat Brianna Greene 6-3, 6-0 in #5 singles.
"Rupa's play was a bright spot as she was able to maintain a strong level of play all the way through." said NYU Head Coach
Horace Choy.
The Violets are now 2-1 this season.

Flyora Shiyanova lost a close 8-5 match to Madie Benn and Michelle Fuca in #1 doubles.
"We fought hard, but Skidmore got us out of our comfort zone," added Choy.
The Violets return to the court on Friday, March 10, against St. Lawrence University at Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA.
