Women's Tennis Falls to Cal State Northridge

Violets Drop to 3-3

The New York University women's tennis team was defeated by California State University, Northridge 8-1 on Friday, March 24, at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx.

The lone win for the Violets (3-3) came from freshman Rupa Ganesh. The San Jose, CA, native defeated Emma Roenholt 7-6 (3), 7-5 in #3 singles.

"Cal State Northridge is a very good team," said NYU Head Coach Horace Choy.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS:

- Sophomore Flyora Shiyanova dropped a close 6-4, 6-4 match to Mickey Hsu in #1 singles.

"We competed hard with some competitive matches," added Choy. "We will build on this for this weekend."

The Violets return to the court tomorrow to face William Smith College at the Stadium Tennis Center. The match is scheduled to begin at 11:00 am.
