The New York University women's tennis team defeated Brandeis University 5-4 on Sunday, March 13, at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx, NY.
NYU is now 4-0 on the season.
The trio of
Carmen Lai (#1),
Flyora Shiyanova (#2) and
Vanessa Scott (#3) swept the top three singles matches for the Violets. In doubles, Lai and Shiyanova teamed up to record a 9-8 victory at #1 singles, while Scott teamed up with
Laila El Dessouki to win 8-5 at the #2 position.
"The squad responded well to our first real test of the season," said Head Coach
Horace Choy. "Brandeis has a good team, but we were able to bring out the best in each other."
