The New York University baseball team was defeated by Washington Unversity in St. Louis 15-3 in their final game at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship in Sanford, FL, on Sunday, March 13.
The Bears (12-4, 6-2 UAA) scored early and often against the Violets (4-9, 2-6) en route to winning the UAA title.
Chase Denison started for NYU, as the Violets used six hurlers in the game. He pitched into the fourth inning and allowed six runs.
Jacob Bader followed with two scoreless innings before
Jarret Weiss allowed three runs in his two innings.
Matthew Millus and
Jason Beck each hurled a scoreless inning.
The Violets scored their first two runs in the seventh inning on RBI singles from
Scott Hilbrandt and
Jack Walter.
Andrew Cilento, who went 2-for-2 in the game, scored NYU's final run in the ninth inning on a balk.
