The New York University men's tennis team lost 6-3 to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Friday, April 17, in Cambridge, MA.
In doubles play, NYU picked up one win as senior
CJ Leong and sophomore
Matt DeMichiel (#3) defeated MIT's Jeffrey Sperling and Dennis Garcia 8-4.
In singles play, freshmen
Ian Combemale (#3) and
Samuel Khoshbin (#4) picked up victories, but MIT held on and came away with the win. The Engineers improved to 11-4 on the season while the Violets dropped to 3-6.
"It was a hard-fought battle," said NYU Head Coach
Horace Choy. "It was a close match all the way through, but we came up a bit short."
OTHER HIGHLIGHTS:- In addition to his doubles victory, Leong also played well at #2 singles, falling to MIT's Eugene Oh 6-2, 1-6, 6-2

Billy Smithline and sophomore
Sammy Aronson played a tight match at #2 doubles, losing 8-6 to Brian Lilley and Avi Walden.
The Violets return to the court tomorrow to take on Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm.,
