The New York University men's tennis team lost to the University of Rochester by a score of 5-4 on Saturday, March 28, at the Stadium Tennis Club in the Bronx, NY.
NYU honored its two seniors,
CJ Leong and
Billy Smithline, on Saturday with pre-game ceremonies.
The Violets got off to a slow start against their University Athletic Association (UAA) rival, dropping all three doubles matches.
"We came out flat and got off to a slow start," said NYU Head Coach Horace Choy. NYU made a ferocious comeback in singles play, winning four of the first five matches. However, they could not win the final singles match, and Rochester came away with a close victory to improve to 6-6. The Violets dropped to 0-3.
"We dug ourselves into a hole, and you can't do that against a UAA team like Rochester," added Choy.
