The New York University women's tennis team will begin its spring season when the Violets travel to Swarthmore, PA, to take on Swarthmore College on Saturday, February 28. First serve is scheduled for 9:30 am.
The Violets will be led by junior
Madeline King and sophomore
Laila El Dessouki. King has led the squad in singles wins thus far, compiling an 8-2 record in the fall while El Dessouki was 5-1. El Dessouki and her doubles partner, junior
Carmen Lai, come into the spring ranked ninth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Region in doubles.
Senior captain
Mari Tzakis and Lai have also been key contributors in singles thus far with records of 4-3 and 4-2, respectively.
The Violets follow up the Swarthmore match when they travel to Saratoga Springs, NY, on Saturday, March 7, for a road tilt against Skidmore College.
