ResultsNew York University's women's swimming & diving team defeated Division I Iona College, 207-84, in a dual meet on Saturday, January 24, at the Palladium Athletic Facility (PAF) in Manhattan.
Emily Doerner won the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.36) and the 100-yard butterfly (58.38). The senior captain also participated on the winning 200-yard medley relay team (1:49.19) along with
Katie Webber,
Isabelle Kitze and
Serena Yan.
HIGHLIGHTS:-
Kitze, recently honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC)
, also took first in the 50-yard freestyle (24.58) and the 100-yard freestyle (53.34). -
Lexi Faunce was victorious in the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:57.27).

Ashley Corley took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.64.

Anne Driscoll won the 200-yard butterfly (2:11.83).
"I am very happy with our performance today," said NYU Head Coach
Trevor Miele. "We have been working really hard over the past month, and it was nice to see their efforts pay off today with a big win over Iona."
Ashlie Pankonin won the one-meter diving competition (263.56) and
Austin Campitelli, also honored by the ECAC earlier this week, won the three-meter diving competition (282.60).
"Another great day for the divers," said NYU Diving Coach
Scott Donie. "We swept every event, and everybody's looking really strong heading into the end of the season."
Doerner, along with diver
Kate Donnelly, were the two Violets honored during the pre-meet Senior Day ceremony.
The Violets will host their next competition, the NYU Invitational, at the PAF on Friday and Saturday, February 6-7.
