Women's Tennis Finishes Competition at UAA Championship

Violets Fall 6-3 to Rochester

Wang won her seventh singles match of the season.

The New York University women's tennis team lost by a score of 6-3 to the University of Rochester at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Sunday, April 27. The championship was held at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, FL, from Friday, April 25, through Sunday, April 27.

The #8-seeded Violets (1-9) faced the #7-seeded Yellowjackets (6-11) in the seventh place match.

The Violets went down 2-1 in doubles and could not make up the deficit despite wins at #1 and #6 singles.

Alison Wang, a three-time Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Player of the Week, won her match in straight sets at first singles. Inez Songadiwardhana also earned a point for the Violets, dropping just one game en route to a straight-set victory at sixth singles.
