The championship was held at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, FL, from Thursday, April 24, through Saturday, April 26.
The #7-seeded Violets (8-3) lost the fifth-place match to the #5-seeded Maroons (11-9). NYU is ranked #25 in the nation, eight spots lower than #17 Chicago.
The Violets went down 0-3 after doubles and could not recover despite more good play from the #1 and #2 singles.
At first singles,
Steven Wu won his 10th singles match of the year (6-2, 6-3). All of his wins have come in striaght sets. Wu is ranked #24 in the nation and #2 in the Northeast Region.
At second singles,
Aaron Meltzer won his eighth singles match of the year (4-6, 6-2, 6-4). Meltzer is ranked #22 in the Northeast.
