#25 Men's Tennis Ends Play at UAA Champiosnhip

Violets Fall 7-2 to Chicago

The New York University men's tennis team lost by a score of 7-2 to the University of Chicago at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Saturday, April 26. The championship was held at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, FL, from Thursday, April 24, through Saturday, April 26.

The #7-seeded Violets (8-3) lost the fifth-place match to the #5-seeded Maroons (11-9). NYU is ranked #25 in the nation, eight spots lower than #17 Chicago.

The Violets went down 0-3 after doubles and could not recover despite more good play from the #1 and #2 singles.

At first singles, Steven Wu won his 10th singles match of the year (6-2, 6-3). All of his wins have come in striaght sets. Wu is ranked #24 in the nation and #2 in the Northeast Region.

At second singles, Aaron Meltzer won his eighth singles match of the year (4-6, 6-2, 6-4). Meltzer is ranked #22 in the Northeast.
