#23 Men's Tennis Beats Stevens in Tight Match

Violets Earn 5-4 Victory

Lim picked up victories in both doubles and singles.

The New York University men's tennis team won a thrilling match over Stevens Institute of Technology by the score of 5-4 on Wednesday, April 2, in Hoboken, NJ.

The Violets, who are ranked #23 in the nation in the March 27 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings improved to 4-0 with the win. The Violets are also ranked #5 in the Northeast region, seven spots ahead of #12-ranked Stevens.

NYU was down 2-1 after doubles play, but the lone victory in doubles proved to be an important one.

Head Coach Horace Choy said of the doubles victory, "the team got big contributions from the freshmen, Matt DeMichiel and Han Ren Lim, in doubles." DeMichiel and Lim would go on to win each of their singles matches.

After another victory from the Northeast's #2-ranked player Steven Wu, Aaron Meltzer sealed the team victory with what Choy called, "a rock solid, gutsy performance."
