NYU vs. Brandeis
The New York University women's tennis team fell to University Athletic Association (UAA) rival Brandeis University by a margin of 8-1 on Saturday, March 15, in a home match at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx, NY.
With the loss, NYU drops to 0-2 for the year, while the Judges, who are currently ranked #24 in the nation, improve to 3-5.
The lone Violet victory came courtesy of
Mari Tzakis, who defeated Roberta Bergstein of Brandeis 6-4, 6-2 at #2 singles.
"Brandeis is a very good team. They came out today and got on a bit of a roll," noted Head Coach
Horace Choy. "It was a really strong day of competition, which is what you expect with UAA tennis."
The Violets will be back in action on Wednesday, March 26, when they travel to Hoboken, NJ, to face Stevens Institute of Technology. Play is set to begin at 3:30 pm.
