The New York University men's tennis team begins the spring season against Drew University on Thursday, February 27, at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx, NY, with first serve scheduled for 8:00 pm.

Back in Spring 2013, the Violets earned their first win of the season against the Rangers, 8-1. This year, NYU enters the season ranked #5 in the Northeast Region.

Senior captain Steven Wu leads the team at the number one singles spot and is ranked #5 in the Northeast. Wu performed well at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Championships in September 2013, reaching the championship match only to fall to the top seed from Skidmore College in two sets.

Wu will be followed by number two Aaron Meltzer and number three Sidd Thangirala.

The Violets follow-up the Drew match when they travel to Saratoga Springs, NY, on Saturday, March 1, for a road tilt against Skidmore.

"It will be great to start getting some tennis under our belt," said Head Cooch Horace Choy.

Results and recaps for both matches will be available after competition on gonyuathletics.com.
