Women's Fencing Competes at Sacred Heart Traditional Tournament

Violets Finish With 0-6 Record



Round 1 vs. Vassar
Rounds 2-6 vs. Princeton, Temple, Penn State, Harvard, and Sacred Heart

The New York University women's fencing team competed at the Sacred Heart Tradition Tournament on Sunday, December 7, in Fairfield, CT.

The Violets went 0-6 over six rounds of competition, starting off the tournament with a 17-10 loss to Vassar College. In the next four rounds, NYU fell to Princeton University (22-5), Temple University (25-2), Penn State University (24-3), and Harvard University (24-3). The Violets finished the day with an extremely hard-fought 14-13 loss against host Sacred Heart University.

Cydney Williams went 7-7 on the day inclduing a perfect 2-0 against Vassar. Freshman Stephanie Cunningham also won seven matches at the event, three of those wins came against the host Pioneers in the last match of the day.

The Violets are back in action on Sunday, January 25, when they host the NYU Invitational at the Cobra Fencing Club in Jersey City, NJ.
