Women's Fencing to Compete at Eric Sollee Invitational

The competition begins 9:00 am at Brandeis University

The New York University's women's fencing team returns to competition on Saturday, February 1, when the Violets travel to Brandeis University in Waltham, MA, for the Eric Sollee Invitational.

The team is set to compete against Boston College, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Haverford College, Brown University, Hunter College, and host, Brandeis.

Last year at the Eric Sollee Invitational, NYU earned impressive victories over Haverford and MIT, beating out the latter in a close score of 14-13.

This season, the Violets sport a record of 3-11. At the NYU Invitational last weekend, the squad won one of six matches, beating out  Wayne State 17-10.

Audra Fox, who returned after the semester abroad, led the team in wins with a 10-8 record in foil. Meanwhile, Kelsey Gibson compiled a record of 9-7 in sabre.

The competition begins at 9:00 am on Saturday. Results and recaps will be available after the competition ends at gonyuathletics.com.
