The New York University men's soccer team kicks off its 2013 season on Saturday, August 31, when it plays host to Baruch College at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY, at 11:00 am.
The Violets are coming off a successful 2012 campaign in which they won the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Championship, got off to their best start in school history (9-0) and climbed as high as #6 in the Division III national rankings. The team's overall record was 12-7-2 and 2-4-1 in the University Athletic Association (UAA).
NYU is again led by
Joe Behan, who is in his 18th season as Head Coach. His 157-130-31 overall record includes two NCAA Tournament appearances, including a trip to the Final Four in 2006.
