The New York University men's tennis team opened play at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship with a 7-2 loss to Case Western Reserve University on Friday, April 26, in Altamonte Springs, FL.
NYU (7-5) came into the match with wins in six of its last seven matches and was ranked #14 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Rankings. The Violets are seeded #7 in the eight-team UAA Championship.
The Spartans (20-5) are the #2 seed and ranked #13 in the country in the ITA's latest Division III national rankings.

-
CJ Leong forced a deciding tiebreak in the #4 singles match before falling 6-1, 2-6, 10-4.
“I'm happy with the way our guys continued to compete until the end," said Head Coach
