Women's Fencing Goes 2-1 in Quad Meet

The Violets Honor Seniors' Final Home Meet With Two Wins

The New York University women's fencing team hosted its annual Family Day at the Jerome S. Coles Sports Center in Manhattan on Thursday, February 7, and went 2-1 against some of the top fencing programs in the nation.
 
The Violet defeated Vassar College 20-7 and Sacred Heart University 15-12, but fell short to Columbia University 19-8.
 
Highlights:
-Audra Fox led the way for NYU in foil as she went a perfect 9-0 over the three rounds. Also in foil, Rebecca Popkin went an impressive 6-3.
 
-Ericka Persson had a notable night, going 6-1 in the sabre.
 
-In epee, Vivian Yung notched a 4-2 record in the matches against Vassar and Sacred Heart, but she did not compete in the Columbia match.
 
-Despite losing to Columbia, ranked #3 in the nation, NYU was able to capture a 6-3 win with the foil.
 
-The Violets honored their graduating seniors, Gemma Dadourian, Jennie Dubin-Rhodin, Rebecca Endryck, Hye Yeon Glass, Christiana Lai, and Jackie Leval.

The Violets will return to action at the U.S. Squad Championships at Ohio State University on Sunday, February 24
