Women's Tennis Ready for UAA Championship

Violets Draw Top-Seeded Emory in First Round

The Violets will look to win their first dual match.
The New York University women's tennis team will face Emory University in the opening round of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Friday, April 27, at Sanlando Park in Orlando, FL.

NYU (0-9) is seeded #8 in the eight-team tournament, while Emory (13-4) is the #1 seed. Last season, the two teams also met in the opening round, with the Eagles claiming a 9-0 victory.

At the UAA Championship, Carnegie Mellon is seeded #2, Chicago #3, and Washington #4. The remaining teams are #5-seeded Brandeis University, #6 University of Rochester and #7 Case Western Reserve University.

"It is going to be a tough task," said NYU head coach Horace Choy. "We have been plagued  injuries all year, and I hope we can go out there, try our hardest and give ourselves a good shot at causing an upset."
