Men's Tennis Heads Into UAA Championship on Four-Match Winning Streak

Violets Seeded #7 and Begin Play on Thursday

Steven Wu leads the Violets with an 11-2 record.
The New York University men's tennis team will face Carnegie Mellon University in an opening round match of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Thursday, April 24, in Altamonte Springs, FL.

The Violets (9-5) are seeded #7 in the eight-team tournament, while the Tartans (12-6) are the #2 seed. NYU enters the UAA Championship on a four-match winning streak, the team's longest of the season.

"We're playing well entering the tournament.  Now we have to keep the momentum going," said NYU head coach Horace Choy.

Sophomore Steven Wu leads the Violets with 12 singles win this season (12-2). Wu, who has been named UAA Athlete of the Week this weekend, has also gone 3-2 in doubles with fellow sophomore Daniel Kil.

Also having a strong season for the Violets are junior Connor Witty (7-3) and freshman CJ Leong (10-5).
