Women's Tennis Falls To Rochester

Violets Defeated 9-0 by UAA Foe

Coach Choy are still seeking their first victory.
The New York University women's tennis team was defeated by the University of Rochester 9-0 on Saturday, March 31, in Rochester, NY.
 
The Violets fall to 0-5 for the season.
 
In doubles action, Violet Hanna Blau teamed with Mari Tzakis in an 8-1 loss in the first slot. At #2 doubles, the team of Ramya Pokala and Megan Moore lost 8-1, while Alexandra Ziarko and Haley Mears were defeated 8-1 in third doubles.
 
In singles, Rochester was just as dominant. Tzakis retired trailing 1-0 at #1, Blau fell 6-0, 6-0 at #2, and Ramya lost 6-0, 6-2 at #3. In the fourth singles match, Moore lost 6-3, 6-1. At #5, Ziarko fell 6-1, 6-1, while Mears was defeated 6-0, 6-0 in sixth singles.
 
NYU will continue to search for its first win of the season when the squad travels to William Smith College in Geneva, NY, on Sunday, April 1.
