Women's Tennis Team Drops First Encounter of Spring Season

Violets Fall to Brandeis 8-1

Ziarko started her spring season with a singles victory.
The New York University women's tennis team fell to Brandeis University 8-1 on the first day of the Middlebury Invitational in Middlebury, VT, on Friday, March 9.

It was the Violets' first match of the spring season.

Alexandra Ziarko, playing at #6 singles, recorded the lone victory for NYU. She defeated her opponent 6-3, 6-1.

“I think we started out a little nervous today,” said NYU head coach Horace Choy. “We have not played as a team in a long time, and I think that contributed to our slow start. I am confident that tomorrow's play will produce much better results.”

The Violets will look to rebound against Bates College starting at 4:00pm on Saturday, March 10.
