The New York University women's fencing team will compete at the Brandeis Invitational on Saturday, February 4, in Cambridge, MA.
The Invitational field features top quality teams, with four of the six squads receiving votes in the most recent Women's United States Fencing Coaches Association Coaches (USFCA) Poll. NYU is set to fence University of Pennsylvania (ranked #9), Brown University, Haverford College, Boston College, Brandeis University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Thus far in the 2011-12 season, NYU sports a record of 5-10. In the Violets' last competition, at the NYU Invitational on January 22, the squad won one of six matches, knocking off Yale University, 14-13.
The Violets feature several fencers who bring impressive records into Sunday's Invitational.
Audra Fox is 21-11 in foil and
Lisa Verzino is 23-20 in sabre.
Following the Brandeis Invitational, NYU competes the next day at Tufts University in Medford, MA.
