Women's Fencing Adds Victory Over Drew University

Violets Continue Successful Evening with Win Over Rangers

After sweeping Fairleight Dickinson University earlier in the evening, the New York University women's fencing team added a win over Drew University on Thursday, November 10, at the Jerome Coles Sports Center.
 
The Violets won easily, 25-2, winning all three weaponsl.  
 
In epee, the women dominated by a score of 8-1. Both Christina Glass and Meg Dadourian compiled 3-0 records. Co- captain Hye Yeon Glass also went unbeaten, going 2-0.
 
In foil, the Violets were perfect in winning 9-0. Jess Sherman, Audra Fox and Becca Baid-Rembra each ended the match with 3-0 records.
 
Wielding the sabre, NYU won 8-1. Co captain Lisa Verzino, Jackie Leval and Ericka Persson were victorious in each of their bouts.
 
“We fenced very well,” said NYU head coach Steve Mormando. “The team worked well together, and I really like what I saw.”
 
The Violets return to the strip at the Penn State Invitational in State College, PA, on December 3.
