On the first day of the Wellesley Invitational, the New York University women's tennis team fell to host Wellesley College by a score of 8-1 on Friday evening.
The Violets lost the first two doubles matches to the #10-ranked Blue, but secured a victory in the third match. The doubles duo of Elizabeth Feldman and Lena-Sophie Krups notched the only victory of the day for NYU when they defeated their opponents 8-6.
Wellesley then swept all of the singles matches, bringing their record to 14-5. With their record now at 3-7, the Violets look to come back strong on Saturday. They face Massachusetts Institute of Technology on the second day of the Invitational competition at 11:00 a.m. in Cambridge, MA.
