Facing nationally-ranked Emory University on Friday, the New York University women's tennis team dropped its first match of the University Athletic Association Championship 9-0 in Waltham, MA.
The Eagles, rated #4 in the nation and seeded second in the Championship, swept all three doubles matches and six singles matches. NYU's record falls to 4-10, while Emory improves to 15-4.
On Saturday, the Violets square off against the University of Rochester (12-7) at 8:30 a.m. and will play again at 3:30 p.m. for either fifth or seventh place.
