Men's Tennis Downs Drew University

Captain Calvin Chou helped secure the Violet win with victories in both his singles and doubles matches.

By a 5-1 score, the New York University men's tennis team defeated Drew University in a shortened match on Thursday.

After moving the match indoors because of rain, a leak in the roof forced the coaches to play to decision.  The final three singles matches were not contested.  The Violets won two of the three doubles matches before clinching the match with three singles wins.

Senior Craig Berger notched the decisive victory at #1 singles after he and fellow senior Calvin Chou won at #1 doubles earlier in the match. Chou and junior Eugene Tsarevskiy also won their singles matches.

Sophomores Alex Stoler and Phillp Rosenstein secured the first win of the match, helping improve NYU's record to 4-6. Drew University fell to 3-3 on the year.

On Saturday, the Violets salute their seniors in a home match against Ithaca College at the U.S. National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY, before hosting Hobart College on Sunday. Both matches have 11:00 a.m. start times.
