The New York University men's soccer team lost to Rowan University Wednesday evening by yet another 2-1 score.
In the last three games, the Violets (5-7-3) have managed to get on the scoreboard with a goal, but have not been able to outscore their opponents who have each tallied two goals.
NYU got out to a quick start with a goal at 13:15. After dribbling by the defender, senior
Robert Keller sent a ball into the back of the net for his third goal of the season. Junior goalie
Marek Urbanski and his teammates held the Owls (7-8-3) scoreless for the first period, taking NYU into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
Rowan, however, evened up the match with an Andrew Ocbo goal seven minutes into the second half. Ocbo headed in a cross from Jay Vigilante after Randy Kohr's throw-in. Jason Choma later connected on a cross from Vigilante at 63:56 to put Rowan up 2-1, a one-goal lead they would not relinquish.
NYU took four more shots than Rowan (16-12), and both teams had four corner kicks on the day. Urbanski (4-7-3) made five saves during the match.
The Violets return home Friday, Oct. 31 to face Carnegie Mellon in a University Athletic Association contest at 1:30 p.m. at Gaelic Park.
