Despite dominating play in the first half, New York University dropped a 1-0 decision to #19 University of Rochester in University Athletic Association (UAA) men's soccer action Saturday afternoon at Manhattan College's Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY.
The Violets (4-4-3, 0-2-0 UAA) owned an 11-8 edge in shots and a 6-3 advantage on corner kicks, but the Yellowjackets (8-1-2, 2-0-0 UAA) controlled play in the second half.
Ultimately, Rochester's efforts paid off in the only offense of the match, when Scott Cady tapped home a Phil Proud corner kick at 81:05 to put his team ahead 1-0.
In the first half, the Violets owned an 8-1 edge in shots, but could not capitalize despite a handful of forays into the Yellowjackets' final third.

Adam Dhanens cleared away a Rochester attempt in the second half.
Scott Peacock preserved the Rochester shutout with two saves.
NYU returns to action Tuesday, Oct. 14, when it travels to face intracity rival Hunter College at 7:00 pm.
