Women's Soccer Begins UAA Play at Case Western

Filiz Kipcakli is tied for the team in goals.
The New York University women's soccer team begins University Athletic Association conference play Saturday, Oct. 4, at Case Western Reserve University at 5 p.m. in Cleveland.

After losing their first two contests of the season, the Violets (7-2-0) have rallied off seven straight wins. NYU has outscored its opponents 25-3 during this stretch.

A strong defensive backline and Alex Walters' play in net have kept opponents off the scoreboard. Walters (0.91 goals against average) notched her fourth shutout of the season in a 3-0 victory over Farmingdale State on Sept. 27.

Offensively, Sarah Pillemer and Filiz Kipcakli lead the way with five goals apiece. In addition to scoring four goals, Emily Jenkinson has also provided a team-high tying three assists. Pillemer, Lucy Dolly Caires, and Laura Palumbo each have three assists as well.
