Jane Sweeney joined the New York University as an Athletic Trainer in August 2022. She works primarily with the Violets’ men's soccer team, the softball team, the men’s and women’s diving teams, and the men’s and women’s swim teams (mid-distance).
Previously, Sweeney served as the Head Athletic Trainer for the North Carolina Courage in the National Women’s Soccer League. Prior to her time in professional sports, Sweeney worked at the NCAA Division I level as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Temple University working with women’s soccer and men’s tennis. She also served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of South Carolina, where she worked with the Gamecock football program.
Sweeney graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Kean University in 2016. She earned her Master of Science degree in Advanced Athletic Training from the University of South Carolina in 2018.
Sweeney has been a Board Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) since June 2016.
