Beth Liav began serving as an assistant coach of the New York University softball team in December 2023. Her primary responsibilities include working with and developing the Violets’ pitchers.
In 2025, the Violets posted a 10-28 record which included victories over University Athletic Association (UAA) opponents Brandeis University and Carnegie Mellon University.
Liav helped produce a pair of Second Team All-UAA players in 2025, as both Alyssa Quary and Naya Schubel earned the designations. A total of 11 players were named UAA Spring All-Academic, while Nicole Cicchetti, Olivia de Hesselle, Marina Egbert, and Karleigh Kleuver were cited as Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
In 2024, the Violets posted an 8-28 record, ending the campaign with a doubleheader sweep over Hunter College on May 2.
NYU had a pair of UAA honorees during the campaign, as Madi Hand and Lindsey Baron earned Second Team accolades. A total of 12 student-athletes earned UAA All-Academic honors. Lily Candelaria and Jessie Werthman received Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar awards, while Hand, Werthman, Emily Stone, and Lizzie Smith were cited as Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Beginning in 2018, Liav worked as an assistant coach for the Hunter College softball team, helping to lead the Hawks to an undefeated 2022 conference title-winning season.
Outside of sport, Liav was a Senior Marketing Specialist for WSP Global Inc. and also served as a Business Development Manager for Jones Lang LaSalle and a Marketing Specialist for Distinct Engineering Solutions.
A 2011 graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Individualized Studies with a concentration in marketing and management, Liav was a three-year pitcher on the Fighting Scots’ softball team. She was twice recognized as a First Team All-PSAC Pitcher.
Liav also enjoys Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and earned a blue belt with Evolution Muay Thai and MMA.
A native of Ferndale, MD, Liav resides in Brooklyn, NY.
