Campbell Stone was named as an Assistant Coach for New York University’s men’s and women’s tennis teams in March 2024, though his primary duties are with the men’s team.
During his first season, the men’s team finished 5-10 and took sixth place at the UAA Championship as Boren Zheng qualified for the NCAA Championship and won his opening match to secure All-America accolades. Zheng also earned First Team All-UAA honors in singles and Second Team honors in doubles. Joining him as Second Team honorees were Jingyuan Chen (singles) and Alexander Lee (doubles).
The women’s team went 6-5 in dual matches and finished the campaign ranked #49 in the nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Jimena Menendez won the ITA Northeast Region Singles Championship, while Dakota Fordham and Isabella Hartman took the ITA Doubles title and also went on to earn NCAA All-America accolades. Menendez also captured University Athletic Association (UAA) First Team honors, while Fordham and Hartman received Honorable Mention.
Stone brought a multitude of high-level tennis experience to Washington Square. In 2022 alone, he trained professionally with ITF Pro Tennis and served as a hitting partner for Casper Ruud and Caroline Garcia at the US Open in Queens and for 10 different professionals at the Citi Open in Washington, DC.
Stone was a four-year starter and two-year team captain at Division I Appalachian State, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sustainable Technology and Renewable Energy in 2020.
Campbell’s full time career is in fintech sales where he works for AlphaSense, the leading AI market research tool, selling to Investment Banks, Private Equity/VC, Hedge Funds, and asset managers across North America.
Stone resides in New York City.
