Paul LeSueur is in his fourth season as an assistant coach of the NYU men’s soccer team. His responsibilities include assisting Head Coach Kim Wyant with game management, scouting and player development.

LeSueur helped lead the squad to a 9-8-3 overall record during the 2017 season, as the Violets advanced to the semifinals of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III tournament. Freshman Maxi Rodriguez earned Second Team All-UAA (University Athletic Association) honors while senior Nic Notaro earned ECAC All-Tournament Team laurels for his postseason performance.

In 2016, LeSueur helped guide NYU to a 9-8-2 overall record, including a 3-4 mark in the ultra-competitive UAA as the Violets earned a postseason bid to the ECAC Division III Championship. Four Violets received All-UAA recognition in 2016, including midfielders Tristan Medios-Simon and Petter Aasa, who were named to the Second Team. Medios-Simon was also named First Team All-ECAC Metro and led NYU with eight goals and four assists.

LeSueur helped lead the Violets to a 6-12 record in his inaugural season with the team. Individually, goalkeeper Lucas Doucette, Aasa and defender Robin Smith were all named Honorable Mention All-UAA, while the entire team received the Sportsmanship Award from the New York Metro Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association (NYMISOA).

???????LeSueur played professionally for the New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League (NASL), helping to lead the team to the 1972 Championship. After his playing career, LeSueur coached for over 30 years at the professional, amateur and high school levels. 

Inducted into the Long Island Soccer Players Hall of Fame in 2013 and into the Long Island Senior Men’s Hall of Fame in 2015, ???????LeSueur graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in health, physical education and recreation from Springfield College in 1970. As a member of the Pride’s soccer team, he garnered All-American honors, was named the MVP of the NCAA Div. II Regional Championships as a junior and served as co-captain in his senior year. 

???????LeSueur, who earned his Master of Science degree in athletic administration and sports management from Springfield in 1974, is a resident of Garden City, NY.
