Ray Kim is in his third season as an assistant coach of the New York University baseball team. His primary responsibilities include assisting with the squad’s pitching staff.
Last season, Kim helped lead the Violets to an overall 20-22 record, including victories in six of their last seven games. In his first season in 2015, the Violets posted a 21-23 overall record and went 12-5 over the final 17 games of the campaign. That season, Kim was instrumental in the emergence of then-freshman pitcher Matthew Mills, who finished with seven saves, a 1.27 ERA in 28.1 innings and was named Second Team All-UAA (University Athletic Association).
Kim came to NYU after an impressive career as a relief pitcher at the University of Chicago. During his career as a Maroon, Kim pitched in 51 games, the second most in school history. In 2014, he led Chicago with 17 appearances and had a team-best three saves.
A 2014 Chicago graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics with honors, Kim was a three-time UAA All-Academic honoree.
