The New York University men's golf team won the Bowdoin College Invitational on Sunday, September 27, closing out the three-round tournament at Brunswick Golf Course in Brunswick, ME.

NYU placed first out of 16 teams with a 54-hole score of 880 (+16), finishing six strokes ahead of runner-up Middlebury. The Violets opened with a 298 (+10) and followed with back-to-back rounds of 291 (+3). NYU began Sunday one stroke behind Tufts and outscored the Jumbos by nine strokes in the final round.

"Another day with tough conditions, but the team played great," said Assistant Coach Daniel Moneymaker.

Tanmay Chandra won medalist honors in the 88-golfer field with a seven-under-par 209. He carded rounds of 69, 70 and 70, breaking par in all three rounds, and finished two strokes ahead of the next-best score.

"Tanmay played really well to keep us in it until the end," continued Moneymaker.

Ryan Zhao tied for 22nd at 223 (+7) after a final-round 75 (+3). Qi (Steven) Liu tied for 37th at 227 (+11) after shooting a 76 (+4), while Bo Dong tied for 40th at 228 (+12), closing with a one-under-par 71 on Sunday. Jomyuth Luangtana-anan finished 55th at 231 (+15) after a 75 (+3).

The Violets return to action at the RPI Collegiate Invitational on Monday, October 5, at Shaker Ridge Country Club in Albany, NY.
