The Violet men opened the meet with an 18–9 victory over MIT before dropping a 16–11 decision to host Brandeis, despite securing foil by a 5–4 margin. NYU lost 16–11 to Boston College, highlighted by a strong épée performance (5–4). The Violets finished with a 14-13 win over Stevens.
On the women's side, NYU opened the meet with a 15–12 loss to Brown. The Violets rebounded with a 14–13 win over MIT and continued their momentum with a 15–12 victory against host Brandeis. NYU fell 15–12 to Boston College despite a dominant 7–2 showing in épée. The women followed with a 17-10 loss to Tufts University and closed the meet with a 17–10 loss to Wellesley College, highlighted by a win in saber 5–4.
On the men's side, Surya Mattoo led the way in saber with five victories, while Adam Wong added eight wins in foil. In épée, Julius DeStefano posted six wins on the day.
For the women, Hiba Hafeez recorded victories in épée, Aurora Aschettino and Emily Luo contributed six wins each in foil. Rosemarie Benciu totaled 10 victories in saber.
"I am really proud of the way our team competed," said Head Coach Ben Bratton, "We showed tremendous effort, resilience, and willingness to fight for every touch.The results signal continued growth, noting that the team is building confidence, depth, and competitive toughness, I believe that our best fencing is still ahead of us."
The men return to action at the Beguinet Classic, hosted by Duke University in Durham, NC, on February 7, while the women will compete at the Miller Invitational, hosted by the University of North Carolina, on February 8, in Chapel Hill, NC.
